Ventura Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Fish (Anchovy) Allergen in Publix Deli Carolina- Style Mustard BBQ Sauce

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Ventura Foods has recalled Publix Deli Carolina-Style Mustard BBQ Sauce after discovering it may contain Traditional Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce that includes an undeclared fish (anchovy) allergen, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction to anyone with a fish allergy. Consumers who have the product should not eat it and should stop using it immediately.

The recall applies to Carolina‑Style Mustard BBQ Sauce sold in 2 oz individually sold packages with UPC 0 41415 57162 4 and use by/lot code APR 08 24B (listed as lot code(s) APR 08 24B). The product has been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers and was sold exclusively at Publix Super Markets in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Publix has removed affected units from store shelves.

Consumers should discard affected packages or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund and may request a refund or replacement.
