Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. has recalled Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon, lot code(s) 3896, sold in 2-lb bags because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The contamination poses a risk of serious illness—particularly to pregnant women, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems—and consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it.
The recalled item is labeled Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon in 2-lb bags with UPC 888670025963 and lot code(s) 3896 printed on the back below the cooking instructions and Nutrition Facts panel. The product has been sold since Jan. 31, 2026, online and at select U.S. retailers, and was distributed only at BJ’s Wholesale Club stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia between Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, 2026. The presence of Listeria was identified by a random sample collected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; the company is investigating and taking corrective actions.
Consumers should dispose of or return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or request a replacement; BJ’s is directly notifying members who may have purchased the item.
