Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — AquaStar (USA) Corp. is recalling approximately 8,000 bags of AquaStar Raw Peeled Tail-on Shrimp Skewers (net wt. 1.25 lb) because the product may have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions and could be contaminated with cesium‑137 (Cs‑137), a man‑made radioisotope that can increase cancer risk with long‑term exposure. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it.
The affected products are packaged in a printed bag with a black top and blue bottom and a skewer image, and carry UPC 731149390010 with lot code(s) 10662 5127 10 (Best If Used By 11/07/2027) and 10662 5128 11 (Best If Used By 11/08/2027). The shrimp skewers have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including Food Lion stores in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, and have been sold since July 7, 2025, through Sept. 20, 2025.
Consumers who purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or follow store instructions for returns; if unsure, consumers should retain packaging and contact their retailer.
