Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Stoltzfus Family Dairy of Vernon Center, N.Y., has recalled its Sour Cream & Onion cheese curds because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and, in severe cases, bloodstream infections. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and not to eat it; those who have eaten the product and feel ill should seek medical attention and mention possible Salmonella exposure.
The recall covers Sour Cream & Onion Cheese Curds sold in 8 oz. bags with the following lot code(s)/best-by dates: Best By 03/25/2026, 04/23/2026, 04/29/2026 and 05/06/2026. These products have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers, including grocery stores, gas stations and other country stores, primarily within New York state.
Consumers should dispose of or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement.
