Chetak LLC Group Recalls Product Because of Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Chetak New York LLC and affiliated companies have recalled frozen 16‑ounce packets of Deep Sprouted Mat (Moth) and Deep Sprouted Moong because routine FDA testing has found a potential Salmonella contamination that could cause serious illness. Consumers are advised not to eat these products and should stop using them immediately; those who may have eaten the products and develop symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting should seek medical attention promptly.

The recalled products are labeled as Deep Sprouted Mat (Moth) 16 oz. and Deep Sprouted Moong 16 oz. with lot code(s) printed on the back of the bag beginning with "IN" and including 24330, 25072, 25108, 24353, 25171, 24297, 25058, 25078, 24291, 25107, 24354 and 24292. The frozen sprouted beans have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers nationwide and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; production has been suspended while the FDA and the company investigate the source of the problem. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these lots.

Consumers who purchased 16‑ounce packets of Sprouted Mat (Moth) or Sprouted Moong should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, or dispose of them safely if a return is not possible.
