Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese of Austin, Ky. has recalled St. Jerome cheese, batch 231129, because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised not to eat the product and to stop using it immediately; no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this lot.
The recalled product is identified as St. Jerome cheese, lot code(s) 231129, sold as an 8-ounce wedge in clear plastic packaging and as a full 15‑pound wheel in clear plastic packaging, each bearing a logo sticker with ingredients on top and a white side label showing the lot number. The cheese has been distributed via wholesale customers, the company’s retail storefront and online at kennyscheese.com and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, in select U.S. retailers and online.
Production of the product has been suspended while the FDA and the company investigate.
