Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Prime Foods Processing LLC of Brooklyn, N.Y., has recalled 477 cases of two varieties of frozen Egg Custard Steamed Buns because they may contain undeclared sesame, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction to consumers with sesame allergy or severe sensitivity; consumers should not eat the products and should stop using them immediately. The company says the mislabeling was identified internally and no illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall covers Item #PD4180 Steam Buns with Egg Custard Added, lot code(s) 24149 and 24150 (UPC 797803704050, expiration 10/2025), and Item #PD4190 Steam Buns with Egg Custard and Coconut Added, lot code(s) 24149 (UPC 797803704869, expiration 10/2025). The frozen products, packaged in bright yellow packaging with the code date on the bottom of the left side panel, have been sold since May 30, 2024, online and at select U.S. retailers and Asian grocery stores across 27 states, including AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IL, KY, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MO, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA and WA.
Consumers should return the uneaten buns and original packaging to the store of purchase for a full refund or follow the retailer’s return instructions; if disposal is preferred, place the product in a sealed container before discarding.
