Sprout Organics Voluntarily Recalls One Lot of Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach Due to Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Sprout Organics has issued a voluntary recall of one lot of Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach 3.5‑ounce pouches because the product may contain elevated levels of lead, which can raise blood lead levels and pose increased risk to young children’s development. Consumers who have this product should stop using it immediately and either dispose of it safely or return it for a refund.

The recalled product is identified as Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach, 3.5 oz pouch, lot code(s) 4212, with an expiration date of 10/29/2025. The pouches have been sold online and at Walgreens and select independent U.S. retailers in the South region, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2024, with most sales occurring between September and December 2024. No other Sprout Organics products are affected by this recall.

Consumers should return affected pouches to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of them in household trash according to local guidance; keep the packaging if requesting a replacement or refund.
