Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Roland Foods, LLC of New York has recalled a specific production of Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz. because routine testing found potential Salmonella contamination, which can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and more severe illness in vulnerable populations. Consumers should stop using and not eat the product immediately and either dispose of it or return it for a refund or replacement.
The recall applies only to Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz. with a Best By Date of October 19, 2024; consumers can identify affected jars by the Best Buy Date printed in black ink near the top of the bottle (listed here as the lot code(s) identifier). The product has been distributed online and at select U.S. retailers and foodservice outlets and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2023 through Jan. 31, 2024; customers should check their purchases against the date and lot code(s) information above.
Roland Foods has ceased distribution and is investigating the cause in cooperation with the manufacturer and state authorities; no illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised to dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase to request a refund or replacement, or contact the company’s recall hotline by email at [email protected] or by phone at 800‑622‑1823 for instructions and assistance; the hotline is monitored 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST.
