Youngstown Grape Distributors Inc. Recalls Happy Moose Juice Tropical Roots and Happy Moose Strawberry Fields Because of Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Youngstown Grape Distributors Inc., co-manufacturer for Happy Moose Juice, has voluntarily recalled two Happy Moose bottled juices—Tropical Roots and Strawberry Fields—because a portion of the production did not complete the high pressure processing (HPP) treatment. Without proper HPP, the products may not have been adequately preserved and could permit growth of pathogens such as Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and diarrheagenic E. coli, which can cause serious illness; consumers should not eat these products and should stop using them immediately.

The recalled items are Happy Moose Tropical Roots 12 fl. oz. (lot code(s): H240903-E, BEST BY 12/02/2024) and Happy Moose Strawberry Fields 12 fl. oz. (lot code(s): H240903-H, BEST BY 12/02/2024). The Tropical Roots UPC on the label is 860012096503 and Strawberry Fields UPC is 866175000388. Approximately 1,701 bottles of Tropical Roots and 1,017 bottles of Strawberry Fields in 12 fl. oz. RPET bottles (shipped in 9-count corrugated boxes) have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers since Sept. 15, 2025; the “Enjoy by 12/02/2024” date appears on the bottom of the bottle below the label. No other production codes or products are reported affected, and there have been no confirmed illnesses to date.

Consumers who have purchased either product are urged to return the bottles to the place of purchase for a full refund or to dispose of them safely if a return is not possible.
