Jewel Osco Stores in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa Voluntarily Recalls Select Items Containing Tuna Salad from Reser’s Fine Foods Due to an Ingredient Recall Linked to Possible Listeria Monocytogenes Contamination

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Jewel Osco is voluntarily recalling select ready-to-eat items containing tuna salad supplied by Reser’s Fine Foods because breadcrumbs used in the tuna salad may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious or fatal infections in vulnerable populations. Consumers are warned not to eat the recalled products and should stop using them immediately to avoid risk of illness, particularly pregnant women, infants, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The recalled items include several Jewel Osco branded tuna salad products with the following lot code(s) and sell‑through dates: CLUB SANDWICH ES WITH SALAD FS (UPC 29125900000), Jul. 16, 2025–Jul. 18, 2025; RM DUO TUNA SALAD W/CRACKER S (UPC 27183000000), Jul. 17, 2025–Jul. 19, 2025; RM QUAD TUNA SALAD (UPC 21500300000), Jul. 17, 2025–Jul. 19, 2025; RM SALAD TUNA SS (UPC 29486900000), Jul. 17, 2025–Jul. 19, 2025; RM SNDWCH CROISSNT SSTBL TUNA SALAD SS (UPC 21372500000), Jul. 17, 2025–Jul. 19, 2025; RM SNDWCH TUNA SALAD CROISSANT SS COLD (UPC 21788400000), Jul. 16, 2025–Jul. 18, 2025; and variable‑weight TUNA SALAD (UPC 21680700000), Jul. 17, 2025–Jul. 19, 2025. These items have been sold since July 16, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers, primarily Jewel Osco stores in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa.

Consumers who purchased these products should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, and those who prefer may request a replacement; anyone concerned about illness should consult a healthcare provider.
