Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Capitol Distributing has recalled 3,934 sandwiches because they may contain undeclared sesame, which can cause serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions in people with sesame allergy or severe sensitivity; consumers are urged to stop using the products immediately and not eat them. The company says the undeclared sesame resulted from a new bread source and labeling error, and the recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. No illnesses or customer complaints have been reported to date.
The recall covers specific turkey, egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches sold under CK and Jacksons retail names with lot code(s) 24039, 24040, 24043 and 24044 and UPCs 983644000141, 983642601562, 983644000097, 983642540991, 983644100032 and 983642541561. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including convenience stores in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and have been sold since Feb. 8, 2026; sandwiches are prepared fresh, delivered refrigerated and have an approximate nine‑day shelf life.
Consumers with a sesame allergy or sensitivity who have purchased the affected sandwiches should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, or request a replacement if appropriate; customers without allergy concerns may also return the product. For questions or to request a refund or replacement, contact Capitol Distributing by email at [email protected] or by phone at (208) 888‑5112, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. MST. Consumers should check with their retailer for additional return instructions or further information.
