Petaluma, Calif., May 14, 2026 — Straus Family Creamery has voluntarily recalled select production runs of its Organic Super Premium Ice Cream because of the potential presence of metal foreign material, creating a risk of injury if consumed. Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled products and to stop using them immediately.
The recall covers specific flavors and container sizes with the following best by dates and lot code(s): Vanilla Bean (pint) — best by Dec. 23, 2026 and Dec. 28, 2026 (lot code(s) printed on package); Strawberry (quart) — best by Dec. 24, 2026; Strawberry (pint) — best by Dec. 25, 2026; Cookie Dough (pint) — best by Dec. 26, 2026; Dutch Chocolate (quart) — best by Dec. 27, 2026; Mint Chip (pint) — best by Dec. 30, 2026. Affected products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, NJ, OR, PA, SC, TX, WA and WI and have been on shelves since May 4, 2026; consumers can find the best by date printed on the bottom of the container if unsure whether their product is impacted.
