2. Motivation & Goal-Setting Theory
A number of people worship celebrities for their talent in specific fields, entrepreneurial mindset, and such. Whether you like it or not, some of us may even want to be just like them somehow. According to the Goal-setting theory of motivation proposed by Edwin Locke, challenging and specific goals are more likely to be achieved (though especially with feedback). In other words, when you make up your mind to keep up with your work and say "I want to have as many fans as ____", you are boosting the chance of accomplishing it. Moreover, people are motivated to have a higher standard of living by taking a glimpse into celebrities' lives.
